Stop Taproot Weeds Storing Winter Energy
Removing persistent weeds now prevents them from returning with double the strength next spring.

Locate perennial weeds like dandelions or docks that have deep, thick taproots.
Insert a long, narrow weeding tool or trowel straight down into the soil right next to the root.
Lever the tool gently to loosen the surrounding earth.
Grip the weed firmly at its base and pull slowly to slide the entire root out unbroken.
Why it works
During early autumn, perennial weeds transfer nutrients from their leaves down into their roots to survive the winter. Extracting the entire root now interrupts this storage process, ensuring the weed cannot use those energy reserves to regrow in the spring.
